Being Festively Floral

Good morning all!

Just one more month until Christmas,can you believe it? But first, we are celebrating Sinterklaas on the 5th of December. Although mainly a children's celebration, my hubs and me still make a little occasion out of it, with a lovely meal and some Sinterklaar snacks such as chocolate letters and speculaas. I might do a little baking as well, always fun :) We don't do cards for that occasion though, so I am sharing another Christmas card with you instead. My card ties in beautifully with this week's Delightful Challenge, which is themed 'Festively Floral'. I'm sure that when you think of flowers at Christmas time, the poinsettia comes to mind, but I found these red flowers while I was combing through my stash that I thought might work just as well. I feel it does, but I'll let you be the judge!

Double Triple Threat

Hi all!

We're a week into our birthday celebrations @ Fab 'n Funky and our challenge continues for another week! Since we didn't get as much entries as we wanted for our birthday challenge, we've decided to change the theme a little bit so you can also participate with any Winter/Holiday themed projects you are most likely working on. So it could be a project for any occasion, but you still need to use "Three of the same things or number 3". Here's another example to get you inspired, again with a birthday theme. We got to use some images from the lovely DigiDarla, another one of our sponsors. I've used three pearls on my card.

Materials:

* Create & Craft CS
* Papermania Summer Bloom DP
* MS Doily Lace border punch
* Kars sentiment stamp set "Gefeliciflapsteerd"
* Vine peel off from local store (Xenos)
* Button, pearls, flower & ribbon from stash

Come on over to the challenge blog and help celebrate our third birthday with us and link up your lovely projects!

* Crazy 4 Challenges (Put a Bow on It)

Traditional Christmas Nutcracker

Hi all!

Another week, another Christmas card, although I've used a slightly different image than I usually do. I like Nutcracker images, but to me they don't really associate with Christmas very much. So I've never really used them for Crimbo cards. But now that I have I might start using them a lot more, the image is just so cute and works well with whatever colour scheme you can throw at it. This project uses the most traditional colour scheme for Christmas in my eyes: Red and Green.

Materials:
* Digital Delights Mr Nutcracker & Winter Tickets Sentiment set, coloured with Promarkers & Spectrum Noirs
* Dovecraft Jolly Happy Christmas DPs
* Red and Green ink
* Joy Craft Flower punch
* Eline's Winterhuis stamp set
* Ribbon, gem from stash

And what a coincidence, that's exactly what the Delightful Challenge has as its theme! With Christmas on its way, I am sure you have a couple of Red & Green projects kicking about, why not enter them?

Buttoning Up @ Christmas

Happy Monday Everyone!

It's time for another Platypus Creek Challenge, themed "Christmas with Buttons and a Bow"! This time, I've used PCD Holly Leaves to accentuate a main image on my card and replaced the berries with some lovely buttons I recently picked up at my local craft store. The holographic DP is also a new impulse buy, I was standing in line for the cash register at a department store when I noticed these beauties glistening on a shelf nearby. There a tons of sheets with different colours and patterns, so expect them to feature in more of my Christmas Cards designs! The only drawback is that the paper is so thin, it's difficult to cut straight with my cutting tool. What do you think?

Materials:
* PCD Holly Leaves
* Snowman & sentiment stamp from unknown set, stamped with black ink and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink
* DPs from stash
* Marianne Letters & More Background stamp
* Dovecraft Back to Basics Christmas Vintage button set, stitched with metallic thread from a local craft store (Pipoos)
* Create & Craft ribbon

Challenges:
* Charisma Cards (Keep It Cool)
* 4 Crafty Chicks (Winter Wonderland)
* Crimbo Crackers (Snowmen)
* Crafty Pad (It's Beginning to look a lot like Christmas)

Let it Snow

Good morning my crafty friends!

Are you tired of making Christmas cards yet or haven't you started yet? I've been making loads of Christmas-themed cards recently and I have to admit I'm getting to a point where I will be glad if I have all my cards ready and can get to working with other types of images and themes again! Nevertheless, I have another Christmassy card to share with you, hoping to inspire you to participate in our Delightful Challenge themed "Let it Snow (Use Snowflakes)". I've made a snowy scene by cutting out some of the elements of my digi and rearranging them into a scene of my own. I've combined them with some deer stamps. I'm very happy with this card; nice clean lines :)

Oops, I just realised I haven't used any Snow Flakes! What a silly sausage :) In my defense, there IS snow ;)

A Ditzy Sketch

<<This is my second post for the day, You can find my CCAYR DT post below!>>

Hello again crafty friends!

Today is also the start of a new Delightful Challenge, which is a "Sketch" this time! If you've been following my blog, you know how I feel about sketches, they're not my favourite challenge type. But I do think I managed to adhere to the challenge, well almost at least. I didn't include a bow, I don't know why but I can't seem bows to work on my projects. They make everything bulky, they fall off, there's glue everywhere......they just don't do it for me. So I replaced it with some chipboard. Oh, and i just realised I didn't mat the sentiment like in the sketch either, so I wasn't as good as I thought I was ;)

I also had the wonderful idea to turn the sketch into a gatefold, forgetting that if I would cut away the bottom bit of the sideflaps the card wouldn't be able to stand! So I made a little easel style stand from a cutoff piece of Kraft and stuck that on the back. Problem solved :)

Materials:
* Kraft CS
* Digital Delights Ditzy Reindeer & Circular Christmoose sentiment, coloured with Promarkers & Spectrum Noirs
* Hely Cuppleditch Pepper's Christmas Party DPs
* Red, white & black ink
* Make Me Oval die & Rounded corned punch
* SEI Christmas Mint Chiplet
* Daisy & Dandelion 'All Wrapped Up' Wishes sentiment stamp
* Cosmic Shimmer Red Fire Twinkles
