Long time no see

Hi all,

I haven't been on the blog for a while, busy time at work with some serious deadlines. But I have been crafting a little bit here and there and have something to show you. We got married in June and I still had to make some thank you cards! The image is from the Internet, the backing paper is actually from the Crafter's Companion Flower Fairies CD (Rose) which colour i changed to match the gold mirror card. I am submitting these cards into the CD Sunday Challenge (no embellishments;

Thanks for stopping by and for the lovely comments I have received on previous posts!

Pumpkins Galore

As hubby was busy watching Celtic football, I got to play a little in my craftroom today. As it is autumn, I wanted to use pumpkins and have a little play with a Studio Light sheet. This is not my usual crafting style, but I found it a challenge to achieve something nice outside my comfort zone. Hope you guys like it, I am entering it into the following challenges: 3D Card Challenge (Autumn;, CES Challenge (Male Birthday Card; and Crafty Calendar (Autumn Birthdays;

Something not christmassy for a change

Down at the 3D Cards Challenge Blog (, they are currently having a challenge to incorporate fruit into your card. Now, I'm all for eating 2 pieces of fruit a day, but I found it hard to get inspired and add fruit to the crafting mix. Thankfully, when I was perusing through my crafty magazines, I came across this little doggie. It's not really in season, but I really couldn't resist. Also, I liked the fact that it was so different from the Christmas Cards I have been making recently, too much Christmassy cheer early on in the year is overkill for me, although I am sure there are plenty of crafters out there who start in January for next year! I was planning to also submit it to the Gorjuss Challenge (not a square card), but I missed the deadline :( Oh well, next time perhaps! Backing paper is Smirk (I LOVE that stuf, it's just too cute), Love and Friendship set I believe. I have decorated the inside a little bit as well (a very good habit I picked up from Mary J, although I am not as good as her at it yet!), but I also like a big surface to write on so kept it small and around the edges. Finished it all off with white peeloffs and a sentiment. I like the fact that the card shape it a little unusual because the topper is wider than the card. How I am every going to get this into a regular envelope though............something to worry about later!

Simple Christmas card

Finally getting round to craft and post a new card again. I don't know how everyone can post so regularly, it's a nightmare for me! Anyway, this is the result of a few hours crafting. I wanted to make a really simple christmas card that would also be suitable for the guys but not look too simple. Turns out that takes tons of time, worth it though. Well, I think anyway....

I've just a gold A5 base card, but used a Crafters Companion scoreboard to emboss a decorative swirl cut the top part of the front of the card away. I've used backing paper from the same Dovecraft kit as I used on the Christmas girl with dog card. Inside the card I've used the same halfway down the card, so it looks a little like it's just one page (not exactly obviously). Some red glitter border and golden christmas tree peel offs and some golden glittery ribbon bow in the corner. Two gems as a finishing touch.

What do you guys think, suitable for a guy? I am submitting this card for the following challenges: DieCut Dreams Christmas Club challenge (Glitter, Ribbon and Gems;, Ooh La La Challenge Blog Challenge (Nothing Floral;, Polka Doodles Challenge (Fancy or Interesting Folding; and the Winter Wonderland Challenge (A Male Christmas Card;

Fingers crossed!

Lothian Crafts Online Candy

Lothian Crafts ( are giving away a candy (promarkers and magnolia stamps). I have never worked with either product, but would love a play, so I am definately entering! Maybe you want to do so too.

Flower Bear Card

I've also made a flower card for the 3d card challenge (, the CES CHhallenge blog (animal antics; and the Die Cut Dreams Challenge blog (Teddy Bear Birthday; The image is of the Popcorn the Bear Flower CD (Crafter's Companion), it's such a cute image. Some plain apricot backing paper, peel off bees, a nice big bow (bought it off Ebay a while back, excellent buy!) and a Kars sentiment stamp. Again, a fairly simple card, but it really makes the image stand out I think.

Christmas Card

In the last week, I have really been browsing all crafty blogs around here and got tremendously inspired. Especially the challenges look like fun, so I've tried to make a card for the Die Cut Dreams Christmas Club ( I'm in full Christmas card mode anyway, so why not combine the two? The topic was 'Furry Friends", so I've chosen this ye olde style card with a picture of a girl with her dog. Yes, I am referring to the dog as furry, not the girl.....I hope I am doing it right challenge-wise and get some feedback from the challenge team.

The picture came from a hobbybook. I think the backing papers are Dovecraft, but can't tell you the exact range. They are gorgeous though. Just worked the edges a little with a black ink pad, some embellishment and hey presto!

Oops, I almost forgot Winter Wonderland with their holly, red and green challenge and Totally Gorjuss with their christmas challenge ( Ooh, I hope they like it!
