Flower Birthday

Good evening, I'm back again with another card! It seems that sometimes I don't have time for weeks and then I have so much time I don't know what to do with it! Anyway, I thought I'd make a few generic cards for birthdays and such, so here is the first one:

Here's the inside:

I've used Eline's huis papers (in the Meadow), they are really beautiful A4 papers. The rest is from my stash. This is the first card I've used the giant pearls on, I've got a whole assortment of colours and I think they look really beautiful here.

I want to submit this card for the following challenges:

* OLLCB (3 of a kind)
* Moving Along with the Changes (Spring)
* Paperplay Challenges (Layer it up)

BTW I've made a little sweetie wrapper to go with the Valentine's card I've posted Sunday:

I've used the same basic paper, punched some flowers and stuck them on top with a little gem in the middle. I hadn't done anything like this before, but it wasn't very hard and still looks fairly impressive.

Ssshhtt........

Good evening all! It's been a very busy week for me, but I finally had some time to craft today. I have made my husband's Valentine's card and I'm afraid that I went a bit overboard with the whole love theme. But then again, the first Valentine as a married couple should be a little special, right? So I searched for the most pinkest en love'ish papers and embellishments in my stash and came up with this:

Pretty pink huh? Here's a picture from the inside:

The pictures are not as great as usual, because hubby takes them for me, but for obvious reasons he couldn't this time.

I've used a scalloped card from papercraft UK. Most of the other stuff I have no clue regarding maker or line, usually because my stash is a mess! I only remember buying the hearts on Ebay, don't you just love them? I've also put some stickles on the image's ribbon around the heart, don't know if you can see it very well though.

I'm thinking about making a matching gift bag for a nice bag of Maltesers. I'm such an angel ;)

I would like to submit this card to the following challenges:

Aud Sentiments Challenge (Sentiment with a love theme)
Craft Your Days Away Challenge (Love)
Creative Inspiration Challenge (Valentines/Love)
Paper Sundaes Challenge (Valentine's)
Totally Gorjuss (As You Like It)
Creatalicious Challenges (Love & Ribbon)
Charisma Card Challenges (Valentines/Love)

Thanks for looking!

Love, Ciska

Winter Birthday

Good morning, I have another card to show you today. For this card I wanted to try and not cover everything in backing paper, something I usually do, but also show off the beautifull muted gold colour of my base card (Crafters Companion). I found it difficult though to make it interesting enough, as to me it looked pretty bland at first.

Also, since my craft room is pretty cold in winter and last night especially so, I retreated to the living room with just limited stash and planned the card upstairs to take only the necessary stuff down with me. Again a first for me, I usually change and change back my design while I am working on it. I will probably do that again next time, if only I would not risk being frozen to my chair! :)

Anyway, here is the card:

I've matted two squares of backing paper with mirri card then used snowflake brads to give it more interest. The image is a twisty pyramage one. Matted the sentiment on little pieces of glittery red card (I love this stuff and can't bring myself to even throw away any little bits I have left, however small). I was thinking about adding something in the upper corners of the card, but thought that it would defeat the purpose of choosing a gold base card.

I want to submit this card to the following challenges:

* DCD Christmas Challenge (Winter Birthday)
* Allsorts Challenge (Male/Boy)
* Creative Card Crew Challenge (Show the colours of your country; red, white and blue for the Netherlands)
* Incy Wincy Challenge (Winter Wonderland)

I'd better be off, I am working from home today but have a long list of to do's, better get to it!

No Inspiration

Good evening all!

I've got a new card to show you, but I'm not happy with it. I guess inspiration doesn't come naturally to me, at least not every time ;)

Anyway, I've tried to make a card to fit the new DCD Christmas Challenge: Christmas Lace. I own precisely one bit of lace, so it wasn't too difficult to choose! I thought to let the lace frame the card, so far I really liked it. Then the backing paper, still ok, then.........................bye bye inspiration! Finally, after much trial and error, I finally decided to just put the sentiment on at a jaunty angle. Let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions on how to change it for the better! Maybe I'm just overly critical.

In the mean time, I want to submit the card to the following challenges:

* DCD Christmas Challenge (Christmas Lace)
* Winter Wonderland (Paws for Thought)
* Papertake Weekly (Cold and Frosty Morning)
* Sentimental Sundays (Winter plus a sentiment)

Well, that's all from me for this week, I will be back next Monday!

Twice in one week....

Oh dear, I might be overdoing it a little bit, posting twice in one week! Oh well, just go with it, because I have another card to share. One of my colleagues has got engaged over Christmas, so I wanted to make her a card to congratulate her. So I started rummaging through my crafty stash......guess what.....NOTHING for an engagement! So I ended up making a more general card (the sentiment says: something worth celebrating, that is as close as I got) with a contemporary feel. She liked it, so job done!

I am submitting this card to the following challenges:
*Sundays with Chrissy (Ribbons)
*Papertake weekly challenge (Anything Goes)

I appreciate your comments, let me know what you think!

Ciska

PS I made this card at 2 in the morning because I couldn't sleep and I wanted to give my colleague the card the next day. Does that mean I've got a crafting problem? ;)

New Year's resolutions

Hello all,

I can't believe it has been so long since I last showed a sign of life here, but I'm back! I don't usually do new years resolutions (I will break them anyway so what is the point really), but I will try and at least blog once every week this new year. It might not sound like much, but since I haven't managed that yet, I think it will be a sufficient challenge for me! I can already see some troubled week ahead, as next weekend we will be visiting my parents to celebrate my  mum's birthday and the next we need to go a funeral in Scotland, but I will definately try!

So, for my first resolution post, I can show you a card I made tonight for the CDC Christmas Challenge (Punch out you embellisment). Now, I don't own many punches, so at first I was at a loss as to how to cope with this challenge, but as I saw that many DT members used ready-made sentiments, I thought I would use one as well (yes, it is punched, just not by me).

I used a gold base card, vellum backing paper, image and snowflakes from my stash and a sentiment from SEI Christmas Mint Accents. I've used some Stardust stickle around the sentiment. I hope you guys like it and that it fits with the challenge!

I am also submitting it to the following challenges:
*CES Challenge (All creatures Great & Small)
*Craft Your Days Away (Anything Goes)
*3D Card Challenge (Anything Goes)

See you next week!
Ciska
