Wedding Calamity

Good morning all!

It's that time again, today is the start of a new (P)inspirational Challenge!
We have this photo as our inspirational starting point:

Makes sense with Easter just around the corner, but my mind immediately went to this one piece of paper that I had in my stash with doily ovals. So I am sharing a wedding layout with you today, documenting my tendency for calamity, especially when something important is about to happen. So yes, I did manage to cut my fingers just before we got married and all eyes in the room would be on this hand......unbelievable how I managed it! Anyway, it's all good now, but it seemed a story worth recording to me, as accidents are such a big part of my personality LOL

What will you go for? Our sponsor this time is Sasayaki Glitter, so well worth entering the challenge!

Challenges

* Sweet Stampin' Challenge (Mellow Yellow) the lace border is created using a stamp
* Create with Connie & Mary (Colour Combination)
* Scrap It With a Song (Somebody to Love)

The story behind my wedding bouquet

Hi everyone,

Two more week have passed, that means another (P)inspirational Challenge is starting today! This is our inspirational picture this time around:

The flowers immediately sparked some inspiration for me, I have a paper with similar flowers that I hadn't cut into! A quick rummage through my stash confirmed it: yes, I did, let's use it and fussy-cut some of the flowers! I also mimicked the chalkboard look a little bit by using a dark background paper, although it's not quite a chalkboard 'pattern' (turns out I didn't have any 12x12 like that in my stash). I did find some 6x6 paper pad that had a pattern with chalky frames on it, so I used that. I combined a larger square picture (4x4) with two small 2x2 detail shots to support my story.

This LO is about how we chose the flowers for my wedding bouquet; they included roses but also thistles, which is probably a bit unusual for a wedding, but since my husband is Scottish it worked really well. Overall, I am pretty happy with the LO, but I think next time I would make the frame paper angle less extreme and show off the paper more by placing it higher on the page while keeping the rest the same. Oh well, you live and learn ;)

Hope you get a little inspired by my make and play along with our challenge yourself. Our sponsor this fortnight is A Day for Daisies, check our their website using the link below!

Challenges:
* Scrap & Craft (Celebrations)
* Making Memories (Add Some Layers)
* Dream Valley Challenges (Lots of Layers)
* Another Freaking Scrapbook Challenge (Use Chipboard and something old from your Stash) 31/3 Everything is relatively old, included chipboard heart
* Hiding in my Craftroom (Use up some Scraps)
I used up some Simple Stories cards from a cutapart sheet; the blue chevron card was stretched to create the illusion of a full piece of paper (that took a bit of creative cutting!) and the card with the railing was repurposed to hold the little pictures. Also used some scrap paper to emphasize the title and fill up the space between title and journaling

Cop Out!

We're on day 4 and today's challenge is to use those stamps that you have bought and then squirreled away. Oh yes, this is such a good versatile set, I will bound to use it! Ring any bells? ;) Just like everyone else, I also have some stamps and other stash that I have never used. Sometimes when I come across it, I think: oh yeah, why haven't I used this yet? With this stamp set, I now realize why I didn't; its just to a very vearsatile stamp set! There are no sentiments, just images, and the style just does it appeal to me. So I had the most difficult of times with this challenge and only managed to use one of the stamps in the lower corner. Oh well, I tried and it's better not to commit to the challenge but end up with a page in your album you actually like, right?

Ebony & Ivory

Good Morning All!

Did you all have a good weekend? We had great weather all throughout Saturday and Sunday and we took full advantage. We had a great bike ride on Saturday and we had dinner in our back garden under the cherry tree, which is full of ripe cherries at the moment. I'd better come up with a couple of ideas to use those cherries up, as hubby isn't much of a fan of fresh cherries and I seem to have a slight allergy for stoned fruits. Cooked is okay though, so perhaps I will be making some cherry sauce or pie filling to stash in the freezer.

Anyway, let's get back to paper craft: I have a vintage make to share with you. Our Challenge theme this fortnight @ Ooh La La is "Ebony and Ivory". When I was preparing for this challenge, I realised I really don't have that much black and/or white items in my paper stash, so I cheated a little and also used greys. I tried using more layers & embellishments this time than I usually do and I'm pretty happy with the result.

A Heartfelt Message

Happy Thursday everyone!

Just two more days and my first week back at work is finished, I always find the first week after any time off the hardest. But I seem to have managed :) I'm showing you my inspiration for the Delightful Challenge of this week, themed "Add Hearts". Maybe you are already working on Valentine's projects or you are looking for an opportunity to add to you wedding card stock (like me) or you have a totally original idea with hearts, why not play along and show us? I've gone the wedding route this time, using new releases Wedding Daisy & Dylan and Love is in the Air sentiment set. I seem to be all out of heart papers, so free cut a heart shape from a little scrap I dug up from the scrappy shoe box and used a couple of heart gems I bought off Ebay ages ago. Hope you like it!

Blingy Bride

Hi all!

I've got a non-Christmas card to share with you today, it was great fun spending some time away from Christmas trees, snow flakes and reindeer! I think I'm almost done with the Christmas crafting for this year, it's just two more cards and then I'm done! The challenge theme at Delightful Challenges this week is Very Blingy, which is a great theme for Christmas and non-Christmas makes alike. I've used this challenge to bling up a wedding card, using some of the glitter spray I bought ages ago. Really great stuff, I just need to take care and not spray so much on myself next time, I'm very blingy now too! I hope the glitter shows up a little on the photos:
