The Power of Love

Hi all!

You might have noticed that it has been a little quiet on my blog this week, that's because I was on holiday. We spent 10 lovely days in the Big Apple, it was great and we saw a lot. Of course we were pretty shocked when the Boston marathon bombing occured on one of our last days in New York, very surreal to see all the press coverage and the massive police force out on the streets. I have to admit I felt a little unsafe after that, something that really hadn't happened before during our trip. Thankfully they caught those responsible, I can only imagine what they could have had in store........

Anyway, while in New York, I visited Michael's, one of their crafting store chains, to stock up on a number of lovely goodies. I bought some lovely punches, a circle cutter and some paper pads, which I am sure will feature in my upcoming projects very soon :) I made this card with my 'old' stash, using up some lovely papers that I have had for ages but never used before. This week @ Fab 'n Funky the theme set by the lovely Ginny is "LOVE IS A MANY SPLENDOURED THING", so just make sure you spread the love with your creation! Our sponsor this week is Floppy Latte and the DT received some lovely images to work with, including this one:

Ye Olde Christmas

Hi everyone!

I just realised, only 5 more DT cards to make before Christmas! It really is coming fast now, have to switch over from making Christmas cards to actually writing and mailing them now. We still need to take the tree down from the attic and make the house Crimbo-proof, I need to buy all the presents, I still need to think what to serve for Christmas dinner ....in short, I am not prepared!

Anyway, thankfully I am prepared for this week's Fab 'n Funky Challenge. Lovely Anne-Marie has set the challenge of making a Vintage Christmas project. Oh, I love vintage, but I find it bloody hard work to make it work! Perhaps I like being too neat and tidy. Here's my vintage attempt:

* Floppy Latte Santa Sleigh Silhouette, coloured with Spectrum Noirs and Vintage Photo Distress Ink
* Dovecraft Noel, Basic Grey Jovial & Marianne Design Old-Fashioned Christmas DPs
