It's a Man's World

Good morning everyone,

Monday again, where does the weekend go? I spent mine in my crafty room, doing some DT admin and also working on a couple of crafty projects. Our Challenge Theme this time is "It's a Man's Thing", so share your male projects with us! I used a lovely sea side image of the Boys to Men CD, it immediately caught my eye when I was looking through the CD content. It's All About You....eh.....Shoe!

Good morning everyone!

Wednesday signals another Fab 'n Funky Challenge and I absolutely love this week's theme, dreamed up by my DT buddy Rachel: "Include some kind of shoe on your project"! I certainly needed to put my thinking cap on for this one, but I love the whole process of going through my stash and coming up with some ideas as I go.

I fancied using up some of my enormous stash for this card and ended up deciding on some decoupage. I've tried to create a little scene of the flip flop with a pebble beach and sea, but am not sure I've completely pulled it off. Oh well, never mind, I still like the card :) Have a look on the challenge blog to see what all my teamies have done with the theme, I can guarantee you that there is a wide variety of interpretations and projects!

Anything Goes for Next Christmas

<<< For my Fab 'n Funky DT make, scroll down to the previous post of today!>>>

Hello again,

Another Christmas card today, as CCAYR opens 2013 with its first challenge: "Anything Goes". Nice and easy one to get you back into Christmas crafting, right? Don't worry, it will come back to you :)

I've used up a decoupaged image that had been lying on my craft desk waiting to be used, along with some scraps that seemed to go with it pretty well and so the card came together quite quickly and easily. I love the paper tearing here, as it resembles snow......well, in my mind at least :) Hope to see you and your lovely makes at the challenge!

* Crafters Companion CS scraps
* Marianne Design Scandinavian Christmas DP scraps
* Assorted scraps from my scrappy shoebox
* Silver & Black Inks

* Gems, ribbons from stash

Christmas Dreams

Good morning all!

I'm well and truly in Christmas card making mode now, it seems all the cards I make are Christmas-themed! I just need so many still! My card for today is no exception, I'm hoping to inspire you to join our challenge @ Fab 'n Funky this week, which is themed "Die-cuts/Punches". I went the punch route and used my gift box border and snow flake punches to create this card. I also used a rounded corner punch for the inside of the card. The base for this card was a lovely piece of glittery paper that I recently delved out of my stash, I forgot I even had it. I'm glad I found it though, as it's just so gorgeous and perfect for those holiday cards! Even though the dreamy image I used might not be obviously Christmas-themed, I think the total card is definitely festive.

Materials:
* Glitter paper & dark blue CS from stash
* Studio Light Decoupage image
* MS border punch 'Presents'
* Joy Crafts Flower punch (which I use for making snow flakes)
* Rounded corner punch
* Sentiment on the front from stash (perhaps from a Fairy Doodles die-cut sheet?)
* Eline's Winterhuis stamp set (sentiment inside)
* SEI Christmas Mint Vanilla Icing Accents
* Peel offs & gems from stash

Sponsoring us this week are Joanna Sheen & Stampart, have a look on the challenge blog to get the exact deets!

Father's Day UK

Good evening everyone!

It's almost Father's day here and in the UK, so I have been busy making Father's Day cards this weekend. This is first I would like to share with you, the other card is likely to follow later in the week. This card is for my FIL, who regularly likes a glass of wine with his dinner:

I'm not quite sure what you would call this fold, but it certainly makes for a more unusual card I think! Most supplies are from a decoupage sheet, but I like to start with the sheet without the example and then make my own card with the supplies. Always fun to see what someone else did with the same supplies and compare cards! I'm curious to see what you guys think, I know there's not much decoupage out there (or perhaps I am looking in the wrong places), mostly digis or stamps, but I like using decoupage just as much as other techniques and don't feel it's inferior to anything I can make with a stamp or digi stamp. Just different. Perhaps you want to give it a try as well ;) Enjoy the rest of your weekend guys!

Materials:
* Studio Light (decoupage) images and DPs
* Line peel offs and silver mirror card from stash
* Computer-generated sentiment

* Delicious Doodles (For the Fellas)
* Card Makin' Mamas (Father's Day)
