Vintage Scene

Hello all!

This time at the Pinspirational Challenge, we have such a lovely inspirational photo, you can go so many ways with this!

You can use theme or colour scheme, you can take it very literal or just use the concept.....I loved working with it! My only problem was picking what I would take from the photo. Eventually, I spotted some postcard paper and a postage-themed stamp set, so decided to take the vintage theme for a birthday card for my dad, who is celebrating his 80th birthday on Boxing Day. Unbelievable....time flies!

I tried to really make it look like a postcard, with the stamps in the right place (I was also careful not to cover up the word Post-Card in any way), and it feel like I pulled it off ok. So how will you interpret this photo for your own project? Come on and join the fun! Our sponsors this fortnight are Elizabeth Bell and Kitty Bee, so why not take a change and try for a win?

Challenges:
* Dream Valley (Winter Birthday)
* Get Creative (AG)
* House of Cards (Lots of Layers and/or Colours)
* Ooh La La (Vintage)
* Scrap 'n Challenge (Autumn Colours)

Another award and two new cards

Good evening all, hope you are all having a good week. Hubby was away for the weekend to take in a football game in Scotland, but is now back. Always weird to have a few days to myself, but of course I then don't have to feel guilty of spending all day crafting!

I received another top three award, this time from Cupcake Inspirations for my spring card! I can get used to this, great! :)

I also have another two cards to share with you. The first one uses a Sarah Kay image, I remember receiving birthday cards with these cute images on them when I was a child, soooooo cute. Here is the front:

And the inside:

Materials used:
* Studiolight image sheet (including sentiment, backing paper and inside border)
* Pale Yellow Nestability shape
* Brown pearls and ribbon from stash

I would like to submit this card to the following challenges:
* Polka Doodles (Chocolate)
* Southern Girls Challenge (Brads, gems and dew drops)
* DYSU (Anything goes)

My second card is an anniversary card, again with a nostalgic image. I really like that style of image and even though I like all those distressed nostalgic cards out there, I can never bring myself to purposefully tear backing paper. Silly, I know, but I guess backing papers are my crafty weakness.

Here is the front and the inside:

Materials used:
* Image and sentiment inside: Studio Light
* Backing paper: Blue Eline Old-fashioned Christmas (yes, really) paper, Pink Making Memories paper (can't tell you the extact range)
* Sentiment on the front: Eline Vintage Stamp Set
* Punch: MS Doily Lace
* Pearls from stash

I really like the little bird on the inside of the card, it was on the paper already but really finishes the inside off.

I would like to submit this card to the following challenges:
* Incy Wincy (Use punch or die)
* Cupcake Inspirations (Inspiration, I've used the blue tones and the swirls)
* Paperplay Challenge (Sentiments)
* DYSU (Anything goes)

Hope you like the cards, enjoy your weekend!

Love, Ciska

Christmas Card

In the last week, I have really been browsing all crafty blogs around here and got tremendously inspired. Especially the challenges look like fun, so I've tried to make a card for the Die Cut Dreams Christmas Club (http://dcdchristmasclub.blogspot.com/Challenge). I'm in full Christmas card mode anyway, so why not combine the two? The topic was 'Furry Friends", so I've chosen this ye olde style card with a picture of a girl with her dog. Yes, I am referring to the dog as furry, not the girl.....I hope I am doing it right challenge-wise and get some feedback from the challenge team.

The picture came from a hobbybook. I think the backing papers are Dovecraft, but can't tell you the exact range. They are gorgeous though. Just worked the edges a little with a black ink pad, some embellishment and hey presto!

Oops, I almost forgot Winter Wonderland http://christmasblogchallenge.blogspot.com/2010/09/deck-halls-with-boughs-of-holly.html) with their holly, red and green challenge and Totally Gorjuss with their christmas challenge (http://totallygorjuss.blogspot.com/2010/09/challenge-49-christmas.html). Ooh, I hope they like it!
