"Training" Home

Hi all,

It's Carnaval in my part of the world this week, that means I have an extra couple of days off and some extra crafting sessions! We went to see the parade with our little one on Sunday and she had a great time. At first, she was a bit overwhelmed with all the noise and dressed up people, but later on she started clapping to the music and had a big smile on her little face. Lovely :) Another challenge is also starting at the (P)inspirational Challenges, using this inspirational picture:

Hm, enough inspiration there to get anyone's crafty juices flowing, I believe! When I am trying to find products for the challenges, I always go through my 12x12 papers first and I came across a paper with faux stichting all over. This seemed like the perfect paper to use here, but which photo's to include? Staring at the page made me notice that the stitching looked very much like a road or even.....train tracks! Aha, I knew immediately which photo's would work; on Christmas Day last year, we traveled by train to see my parents! I also added some really stitching here and there. The rest came pretty easily. So, here is my finished page:

The title is Training Home 4 Christmas, inspired by the Chris Rea song :) Hope you enjoy my page and consider playing along with our challenge, you have 2 weeks to get your project finished and loaded up! We are sponsored by Pattie's Creations.

Challenges:
* The Paper Girls (Stars and Stripes
* My Time to Craft (Travel
* Crafting When We Can (Inspirational Picture)
I love making scrapbook layouts, as it's a great way to reminisce and relive the great memories I've made over the years. I still get to play with paper, but on a grander scale and including writing and pictures, what's not to love about that!

Kitchen Love

Good morning everyone!

This is my last LO I am sharing as a GDT for Lasting Memories, I have had a lot of fun making these 4 layouts! Thank you to Karen and Michele and the rest of the girls for giving me this opportunity, it's been great and I will definitely be back for the challenges! This week's challenge is inspired by a photo:

I've used the colour scheme and theme to scrap pictures of my daughter playing in her play kitchen, a Christmas gift from her Granny and Grandad. She is not yet 'cooking', but loves to play with the oven door (open, closed, open, closed, open.....) and dragging bits of the kitchen throughout the house. Oh well, every chef had to start somewhere, right? ;)

I hope this has inspired you to submit your own project to the challenge,
you have about a week to do so!

Challenges:
If You Give a Crafter a Cookie (Inspirational Cookie, I've used the colour scheme (red, black, white) and the heart/love theme)
My Time to Craft (Anything But a Card)
Alphabet Challenge (You Choose)

Here & Now

Hi all,

A new challenge at Pinspirational Challenges starts today and here in the inspirational image:

Cute, no? I decided to use the colour scheme as my inspiration and found this lovely paper in my stash that would work well for a backing paper. This layout is about what is happening with us right now and since there was going to be quite a bit of personal details in my journaling I decided to take the picture before I put the words down. I also found a balloons chipboard piece that went well with the colours and the inspirational picture.

Our sponsors this time is Beccy's Place, so play along with our challenge to have a shot at a lovely prize!

Challenges:
Morgan's Artworld (Add Flowers
Crafting with an Attitude (Anything Goes

Arrows Aplenty

Hi all,

Another week, another challenge at Lasting Memories! This is my second GDT layout for their challenge, this time the challenge is to use lots of hearts or arrows.
I chose to use plenty of arrows for this layout:

When I saw the theme, I immediately thought of this background paper, which got me thinking about the Simple Stories Instasquares pack that I knew I had in my stash for quite a while but hadn't really used yet. I had a lot of fun trying to incorporate as many arrows, see if you can spot them all ;)

Challenges:
Delicious Doodles (Anything but a Card)
Lil' Patch of Crafty Friends (Anything Goes)
Love to Create (Anything Creative/Mixed Media Goes; I've used Distress Inks to stencil the arrows)
Doing Life (Anything Goes)
Crafts Galore (Anything Goes)

If you have an idea how to use lots of hearts or arrows on your layout, why not share it with us? There are more fun challenges for the month of February, so check out the blog and play along if you want!
