My Scottish Laddie's Birthday

Hi Everyone!

I am back today to share my hubs' birthday card with you, his birthday is next week but I always like to get in early to make sure my card is finished on time! My husband is Scottish, so I had bought this stamp ages ago, thinking about using it for his cards and for some of my Scottish in-laws, but I had forgotten all about this little lad until I went rummaging around in my stamp box and found him again! I've used the modern O'Reilly tartan colours, even though my husband's roots really lie in Ireland. I've fashioned the DPs to remotely resemble the Scottish flag, even though I have to admit you need quite a bit of imagination to spot that! I've used stars and the rocket sentiment stamp, as he is a real space and astronomy fanatic. Hope you like it! Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Father's Day NL

Good evening everyone!

Have you guys fled upstairs to your crafty rooms as well to avoid the football gripping the male half of the country (and in all likelihood some women as well!)? Well, I certainly have! Let me play with paper and glue while the rest of nation is glued to the telly :)

I have my dad's Father's Day card to share with you, he used to drive a motor cycle about a century ago and still enjoys looking at old bikes. So I thought this would be a perfect image for him! I can't exactly remember what type of motor bike he owned and if it looked anything like this, but he probably still can appreciate the nice picture :)

Hope you like it and even more important, I hope HE likes it. We shall see :)

Thank you all by the way for leaving such nice comments on my last card, I really needed some positive encouragement and am back on track starting to like what I do a little better. I will try and keep it up! Next project, the hubs' birthday card..........stay tuned ;)

Father's Day UK

Good evening everyone!

It's almost Father's day here and in the UK, so I have been busy making Father's Day cards this weekend. This is first I would like to share with you, the other card is likely to follow later in the week. This card is for my FIL, who regularly likes a glass of wine with his dinner:

I'm not quite sure what you would call this fold, but it certainly makes for a more unusual card I think! Most supplies are from a decoupage sheet, but I like to start with the sheet without the example and then make my own card with the supplies. Always fun to see what someone else did with the same supplies and compare cards! I'm curious to see what you guys think, I know there's not much decoupage out there (or perhaps I am looking in the wrong places), mostly digis or stamps, but I like using decoupage just as much as other techniques and don't feel it's inferior to anything I can make with a stamp or digi stamp. Just different. Perhaps you want to give it a try as well ;) Enjoy the rest of your weekend guys!

New Arrival

Hi everyone,

We had a lovely anniversary trip last weekend, my hubs took me to Dublin, one of my favourite cities! We had a great couple of days there, walking around soaking up the atmosphere and sitting in pubs drinking Smithwicks & Guinness. We also had tickets to see Bill Bailey, who was absolutely hilarious, I would definitely recommend the show! I will hopefully do some scrapping of the trip in the coming weeks, I will try and share with you :)

When we came back, I got a call from my friend, telling me she gave birth to a little baby girl that night. That's girl number two for them, so a real woman's household! Of course I went ahead and made her a card, here it is:

I am not too happy about it, it seems I am not liking my creations very much at the moment, but as my husband assured me he thought it was lovely and beauty is in the eye of the beholder after all, I decided to post and send anyway. Let me know what you think, I'd appreciate it very much.
